Why Shakespeare?: The music and rhythm in the poetry brings me closer to my core and gives me words to reveal my feelings and “let ‘em forth!” Being in community with the audience and actors is the bright cherry on top.

Why Shakespeare?: His words can hold any depth of emotion and expression; for entertainment, healing, liberation, and transformation, like no other writer I’ve found.

Why Shakespeare?: I love the mystery in all of Shakespeare's works. On and off stage. I love the distance between Elizabethan language and our current vernacular and the challenge in closing the gap. I learn more about humans each time I see, or do, one of his plays.

Why Shakespeare?: I find that his language and stories are a puzzle to interpret as an actor, and performing Shakespeare puts me in touch with myself.
